Q: Acne creams?
Acne creams such as proactive…if it were left on over night would there be any serious side effects? like killing brain cells, causing any diseases or disorders?

A: not that i know of. i thought the stuff just dried out your skin.

Q: What are some acne creams that actually WORK?
I’ve tried many different types of acne creams. Clean and Clear, spot treatment, etc. Does anyone know of any acne creams that they have used, and that worked?

P.S. Should I use the spot treatment, and the facial cleanser, because I’ve only used one at a time.

A: Neutrogena Advanced.
You use it twice a day and it’s facewash, spot treatment, and oil-free lotion.
what i do is wash my face in the morning and at night and use the spot treatment at night and lotion in the morning. works wonders!

Q: Is it okay to apply acne creams to your face with cloth pads/cotton?
I have acne creams and I hate touching my face, so I use cotton balls or cotton pads to apply the creams instead. Iwas just wondering if the products are more affective if applied directly from your finger or if it doesnt matter?

A: yes, just make sure the entire area is being covered. I think you should apply it w/ your finger, you will use less cream this way.

Q: Are topical acne creams supposed to make your acne worse before it gets better?
My dermatologist prescribed me a topical acne cream a couple weeks ago, and I’ve been breaking out more since I’ve started using it.

Is the acne supposed to get worse before it gets better?
And about how long does it take before it starts getting better?

Q: how long after popping a zit should i wait to wear my prescription acne creams?
i would like to know if how long i have to wait to put on my prescription acne cream for the zit to heal faster and reduce in size and to not clog up the pore.

A: The art of popping pimple.. gosh im 50 and still having pimples.. There is a way to get them but u have to get the whole thing at one shot. Other wize if you keep hitting it.. it will get really sore and possible infected again. Leave it alone.. for a few days .. just use the hot water treatment befor and after you mess with them. otherwize leave them alone and just let the hot water/washing and the cream do it choir.

Q: What else can I do besides acne creams to reduce acne?

i made a promise to myself to medicate my acne each night with acne creams like nutragina for this whole month. So im sure in september i wont have much acne anymore.

A: I used Neutrogena Advanced Solution Compete Acne Therapy System.It REALLY helped. It worked in aout a week.It also evened out my skin tone. You can buy it in Wal-Mart.

Q: What are the best antibiotics & acne creams that actually work from experience?
I have mild-moderate acne

A: I had acne for several years since I was a child. The antibiotic that worked for me was minocycline. This is a pill. Topically I had success with erythomicin and clindamycin. However, everyone is different and some products can aggravate your condition. A dermatologist can work with you to determine what treatment works best for you.

Q: Do acne creams for sensitive skin work on dry skin?
My mom got this Oxy acne cream for sensitive skin that was on sale. I have really dry skin, so I’m wondering if this product would make my skin flaky?

Also, I know that Proactiv is extremely bad, but my cousin gave me 5 packages of it .. just wondering if Proactiv is good enough for all skin types?

A: Yes, it would be fine to use a sensitive formula for dry, flaky skin. All acne creams/ facial washes and scrubs that are for “dry skin” are really made with sensitive formulas as to not cause you to have more flakes/ dryness if that makes sense. So basically, most of the things you see that say sensitive can also be used for dry skin, as they are the same formula.

And, don’t use Proactiv! My skin type is very oily and Proactiv dried out my skin soo bad. My dad told me it looked like my face was peeling off. It did get rid of all my acne, but it was not fun going thru three months of a dry itchy face. It was definitely made for people with very oily skin. I’d stay away from it. Hope that helped!

Q: is it bad for your skin if you use two different acne treatment creams?
I used ProActiv for a while but my dermatologist prescribed me a different acne washing cream. But since I still have a lot of ProActiv left over, I’ve been using ProActiv to wash my face in the morning and the dermatologist’s one to wash my face at night. Is that damaging for my skin? Will it only make acne worse?

A: YES. Only use one at once. This is because your skin will get confused and will break out.

Q: Do sulfur-based acne creams take color out of clothes/sheets?
Do sulfur-based acne creams take color out of clothes or bed sheets? I made this mistake once with a treatment that used salicyclic acid, and it destroyed my pillow covers. Has anyone had this happen with sulfur-based acne spot treatments?

A: I am not too sure about the salicylic acid, however I know benzoyl peroxide destroyed my sheets and towels. Any cream without this should be fine:)

Q: What creams worked for your acne scarring?
For anyone who has used creams for acne scarring, what best worked for you?

A: I used Brevoxyl which was great but in order to get it, your doctor would have to prescribe it to you. However, there’s a knock off brand called PanOxyl. It’s a bar and should cost you around $5.

Q: What kind of acne creams/face wash works the best for you?
Like Pro Active? Does it actually work?
Where do you get Spectro Jel?

A: Proactiv is basically an expensive cleansing system that’s active ingredient is Salicylic acid… It actually made my acne quite a bit worse…

I had a great deal of luck with Spectro Jel. After 12 years of acne, it was the only thing that gave me clear skin

Q: Am i gonna want to use ponds cold creamn before or after my acne creams?
Should i do it before or after liek before i go to bed?

A: put on acne cream first. then use cold cream. if your face is super dry skip a night of acne cream & just use regular cold cream.
