Q: Should I do a laser surgery for acne or not?
I have acne and old red spots from it, I’ve tried everything, proactiv, lemon juice, tea tree oil, neutrogena products, clean and clear products and no luck…should I go to a dermatologist and do the acne laser surgery? and if yes how much will it cost to me, i don’t have an insurance. And what are the risks? I heard that it might have side effects is that true?

A: Check with a trained dermatologist to find out the root cause of your acne. He may have other acne treatments based on your acne type. You should consider acne laser surgery only as a last resort and for most severe acne cases. If you really going for this surgery, it should be only a part of your acne treatment program. This intense laser beam will destroy the existing infect and stimulate blood flow again, which will aid the tissue in repairing the damaged cells and skin. Some people have little or no results from laser acne surgery and may be left with uneven skin pigmentation.

Q: Will acne laser surgery remove my acne for good?
I have heard about these types of surgery. Will they actually work and get rid of my acne for good?

Are these surgeries expensive?

A: Acne laser surgery has proved to last quite a long time. In some cases acne patients indicated that it took years before they saw another pimple.

That’s because…

The laser light scorches the oil producing glands in the skin (the sebaceous glands). These glands then contract and produce less oil (or sebum).

And we both know that…less sebum in our pores means less acne breakouts.

So it’s safe to say that laser treatments will prevent acne for a long…long time.

However…

…Some dermatologists advise patients to try other forms of acne surgery first. And acne laser surgery should be a last resort.

But I guess it’s all up to the individual.

Q: Are there any things i can use to reduce the scarring i have from acne without laser surgery?
I don’t and can’t afford laser surgery to reduce my acne scars, so i was wondering is there any product that i can use which isn’t too expensive that i can use to reduce the visibility of my scarring. The scarring is mainly on my cheeks and on the area next to my eyes.

A: Try ‘Bio-Oil’ only 15 quid at all good pharmacists and drugstores. xxx

Q: i recently had DTP acne laser surgery how can i clear my scars and redness?

A: scars cocoa butter

Q: Do the acne medications a dermatologist offers or laser acne surgery work?
thing is, my skins not that oily and it’s a bit sensitive so acne cleansers make it worse.

A: Yes they really do work. Dianette is absolutely brilliant. Acne is an internal (as well as an external) problem and cleansers can not really help fix it.

Q: How old do you have to be to have laser surgery for acne scars?
I don’t get any pimples anymore but these scars have been on my face for at least a year. I am 16 right now. I just want to get rid of them for next year because I have college interviews. If I can’t get laser surgery by then is it possible for me to get rid of them in a few months then.

A: 20 years

Q: How to get rid of acne scars without laser surgery?
I have acne scars all on my cheeks, and i was wondering if anyone knew how to hide them, or to get rid of them

A: Wash your face somewhat gently with baking soda and water. The baking soda scrubs off the dead skin cells gently. Then take vinegar (preferably apple cider vinegar) and mix it with water. Then put on your affected area. Should clear right up! Drink lots of water to flush the toxins out of your system.

Do not use toothpaste or Listerine!!!

Q: Acne Laser Surgery Removal Doctor Question?
I have considered getting acne laser surgery or something like that. I have heard people getting it and the doctors use laser technology or something and itit helps clear your acne away. I don’t have serious acne but i do have a bunch on my forehead and on my nose. a bunch of small ones. that don’t seem to go away after multiple product uses over a few years. i was also wondering how much would one of these procedures cost? Does it hurt getting this procedure? Are there any side effects? I am also wondering if people think the results they got were worth the money they paid and how long the acne or pimples would be away for?

A: Hmm yes. That’s probably the best thing to do. Laser surgery is known to have great results, and i guess it will do the same for acne. The question is.. : are your pores clean enough to permit surgery ? I assume a doctor will give you the approval to go with the procedure.

Q: I want Laser surgery to remove acne scars from my nose?
I was thinking of getting laser surgery to remove these horrible acne scars from my nose. They make my face look 10 years older especially because I have a big nose.

But aside from that I was wonderin are there any risk? And will the surgery perminently remove the scars??

A: hi,
from what i have heard, is that there is no risk at all and that if you have a lot of acne marks you will see a considerable difference.
So i would say that you should go for it !

Q: Is laser surgery recommended for Acne scars?
Is laser resurfacing good for the aftermath of acne, all the red marks on my forehead I hate so much, is it worth having this treatment?

Thank you.

A: There are a number of invasive and expensive techniques to help resurface the skin, such as chemical peels, laser resurfacing and microdermabrasion, but these are all a trauma to the skin and are beyond the average budget.

Have you considered micro needling to remove the scar instead of laser scar removal? You can buy a skin roller with fine needles which just tickle when you use them.

have a look on www.derma-rollers.com and see what you think?

hope it helps.

Q: I can’t get laser surgery for my acne and scars because my skin is too dark?
Went to the dematologist. Asked the cosmologist about the laser treatment for my acne and hyperpigmentation. She said that it is not recommended for my skin type (I’m African-American). Have you ever heard of such a thing?
I wasn’t hinting at racism. My dermatologist suggested that laser treatment could be an option for me, so when the cosmologist didn’t recommend it, I just found it odd, that’s all.

A: i’ve heard also is doesn’t really do any good if african americans get laser surgery because they have a darker pigmentation so its harder for the laser to penetrate through the skin…i think that suxx as well

Q: How much $ would laser surgery for acne cost?

A: no knife involved, just a laser- i worked with someone who had it done. the doctor said she needed three treatments and the three cost $1000 all together. crazy expensive but her skin looks great and she never breaks out anymore, just a tiny pimple here and there. she said it shrinks the oil gland under the surface of your skin that causes pimples when it gets clogged, thats why you don’t break out anymore- if you get pimples the way i do you know thats worth it. i eventually want to do it but gotta save up.

Q: Laser surgery to cover up acne scars?
I used to have bad acne as a teenager and now my outbreaks are pretty much over with and my doctor mentioned laser surgery to cover up these small but several scars leftover, he said they sort of sand it to make them less visible. Has anybody heard or had this done? And also how did you like the outcome and was it expensive.

A: I haven’t had this done but I’ve met a few people who have. It’s relatively common if the scarring is bad enough. Your doctor was right in describing how it’s done. They essentially ’sand’ off the top layers of the scar to smooth it over and encourage new skin growth. Similar procedures are used for people getting rid of spots, wrinkles and other things on their skin. Not sure about the cost of the procedure though I’d imagine depending on the doctor and possible insurance coverages as well as how much work needs to be done, it’s in the low thousands. People who get it seem to be very happy with the results and much more comfortable with their appearance afterward. Best of luck!
